About this Photograph: The U.S. Women’s Open Championship Cup. The original trophy, which was presented in 1953 by the USGA, is housed in the Golf House Museum and Library. The original was replaced in July 1992, by the family and friends of Harton S. Semple, who was USGA president in 1973-74. Semple’s daughter, Carol Semple Thomson, is a record 11-time member of the USA Curtis Cup team.
