About this Photograph: Rory McIlroy holds the U.S. Open Trophy high after winning the 111th U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md., on Sunday, June 19, 2011. McIlroy’s victory at the 2011 U.S. Open was one of the greatest performances in major-championship history. His 16-under-par total of 268 shattered the U.S. Open 72-hole scoring mark by four strokes. The 22-year-old from Northern Ireland was also the youngest to win the U.S. Open since Bob Jones in 1923 and the first 22-year-old to win the title since Jack Nicklaus made the 1962 U.S. Open his first professional win.
