About this Photograph: The first hole of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort's Bandon Trails course as seen on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Bandon, Ore. Bandon Trails, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, was the third course developed at the resort. The layout begins atop a massive sand dune and quickly takes golfers into a sprawling meadow before meandering upward into the coast forest. Players then descend downward and conclude the round in the dunes. The course features a variety of natural vegetation and offers dramatic views of the ocean below.
