The USA Walker Cup team earned a narrow 10-8 victory over Great Britain and Ireland at Milwaukee (Wis.) Country Club in 1969. The American team included future PGA Tour players Lanny Wadkins, Steve Melnyk, Joseph Inman Jr. and Bruce Fleisher. Fleisher had  won the U.S. Amateur the previous year, while Melnyk won the title in 1969.
