About this Photograph: During the war years, it wasn't uncommon to see golf exhibitions held to support the war effort. Many of the game's great stars took 3000020 in these exhibitions, including Byron Nelson. It is important to note that the USGA suspended all of its championships between 1942 and 1945 due to World War II. It also didn't play any championships during World War I (1917-18).
