Bunkered Down

Price: Starting at $50.00

About this Photograph: It’s hardly uncommon for anyone not to find a bunker when playing the Old Course at St. Andrews. The layout is littered with pot bunkers and even the great Francis Ouimet, champion of the 1913 U.S. Open and '14 U.S. Amateur, struggled to get his ball out of the hazards. Bob Jones once walked off the course during the third round of the British Open when he struggled to get his ball out of a bunker at the 11th hole. The USA team, by the way, posted a narrow 6-5 win over its Great Britain and Ireland counter3000006s. GB&I would not win a match until 1938 at St. Andrews.
