About this Photograph: The first U.S. Open held after the conclusion of World War I saw Walter Hagen hold off Massachusetts native Mike Brady in a playoff (77-78) for the 1919 U.S. Open title at Brae Burn C.C. in the Boston suburb of West Newton. It was the second and final U.S. Open title for Hagen, who also won the 1914 championship. Hagen finished his career with 11 major titles.
