About this Photograph: The 17th hole at Erin Hills, a heartland course designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzon, Dana Fry and Ron Whitten, is hosting its first U.S. Open in 2017. The course, which was carved from rolling terrain created by glaciers from a bygone era, previously hosted the 2008 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links (Tiffany Joh) and the 2011 U.S. Amateur (Kelly Kraft). It will be the first U.S. Open ever contested in Wisconsin.
